About Me: |
|
Growing up as a child I was spoiled with animals all around. Being raised on a cow farm, I learned real quick to respect and love all animals; big ,small, furry, or slimy. I have had cats and dogs all my life. I am thrilled to say I have five amazing cats, two of which are special needs. Sherbet was a cat I rescued from my clinic in Virginia where she had been abused, neglected and left mangled by the owner. The previous owner waited 10 days after being attacked by a dog (so she says) to bring in this 3 1/2 pound baby. Today she might be missing a rear leg and her hearing, but she has never let that stop her! She is the smallest and quickest cat in the house. The other special needs cat I am excited to be a mother of is known by many. Her name is Ivy. She arrived into my home several weeks ago. She was brought home on her fifth birthday, to the very first place she would call her first home. She lived in the luxury of The Cat Clinic of Roswell for years with Dr. Merck giving her the utmost care. I also have two beautiful boys, Romeo (Tuxedo), and Axle Rose (Tabby). They are both big love bugs! And my roommates cat, Kitza (Tabby, she looks like she has cow prints on her fur). She has one of the most individual personalities I have ever seen in a cat! I have had over 3 years in the Veterinary field. I worked with Dr. Gene Moon and Dr. Carol Dugan at Gayton Animal Hospital in Richmond, Virginia from August 16th, 2004– May, 2006. And with Dr. Melinda Merck from July 5th 2006– March 2007. I have learned more in the 3+ years working under these amazing Veterinarians then I ever learned in college. The hands on experience was more than I ever imagined. Each day was a new patient, a new found love for what I do, and a new respect for the science helping save to save lives on a daily basis.. I believe in giving compassionate care for all animals big or small. Treating them all as my own animals (kids). I take so much pride in being able to aide Pet Parents care for their loved ones. Helping them learn how to give fluid therapy to a cat in Kidney failure, allowing them to plan that trip they have been needing for months but have been to afraid to leave their animal in a boarding facility or with a pet sitter with little to no Veterinary Assistant experience. I started Wipe Your Paws Pet Sitting services in March of 2007. I had just decided to leave The Cat Clinic of Roswell to pursue a dream. Wipe Your Paws was an idea in 2004 when I first started Pet Sitting in Virginia for neighbors and family. I never dreamed in a few years my mere dream would become a reality. One of my missions is to be able to give Pet Parents affordable and reliable services and visits. Even with high gas prices, I try my best to keep my rates low, my services professional, and my love for animals to flourish! |
